Description
Junto a la carretera que une las localidades de Albarracín y Bezas se encuentra el punto de información del arte rupestre prehistórico de la Sierra de Albarracín.
Equipado con aparcamientos y una zona de descanso para los visitantes, este punto informativo cuenta con una serie de paneles en los que se describen las diferentes rutas que podemos recorrer para visitar los abrigos pintados del entorno.
Este conjunto de arte prehistórico está compuesto por pinturas realizadas aproximadamente entre los años 8000 y 4000 a. C. en las que se entremezclan las figuras naturalistas propias del arte levantino y las sintéticas representaciones del arte esquemático.
Las pinturas se encuentran perfectamente integradas en el Paisaje Protegido de los Pinares de Rodeno, caracterizado por sus impresionantes formaciones de arenisca roja, y forman parte del conjunto del arte rupestre del arco mediterráneo de la Península Ibérica, declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO desde 1998.
Description
Next to the road that connects the towns of Albarracín and Bezas is the information point on the prehistoric rock art of the Sierra de Albarracín.
Equipped with parking and a rest area for visitors, this information point has a series of panels describing the different routes we can take to visit the painted shelters in the area.
This set of prehistoric art is made up of paintings made approximately between 8000 and 4000 BC. C. in which the naturalistic figures typical of Levantine art and the synthetic representations of schematic art are intermingled.
The paintings are perfectly integrated into the Protected Landscape of the Pinares de Rodeno, characterized by its impressive red sandstone formations, and are part of the group of rock art of the Mediterranean arc of the Iberian Peninsula, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1998.
