Fuente de la Peña
Descripción
La conocida como fuente de la Peña está situada en el Parque Municipal de Albarracín, junto al cauce del río Guadalaviar.
Realizada en cemento y con una escalera que permite el fácil descenso a la misma, esta fuente aprovecha las aguas emanadas naturalmente de la propia roca en este punto concreto, habiéndose añadido un caño metálico que facilita la salida de agua.
Se trata de una fuente de gran importancia para la historia de Albarracín al haber sido una de las pocas con que contó la localidad para abastecer a su población hasta la conclusión del proyecto del sistema de agua corriente en el año 1956.
Description
The fountain, known as Fuenta de la Peña, is located in the Albarracín Municipal Park, next to the bed of the Guadalaviar river.
Made of cement and with a staircase that allows easy descent to it, this fountain takes advantage of the waters naturally emanating from the rock itself at this specific point, having added a metal pipe that facilitates the release of water.
It is a source of great importance for the history of Albarracín, having been one of the few that the town had to supply its population until the completion of the running water system project in 1956.
